Return and Exchange Policy

Returns and exchanges are gladly accepted under the following guidelines:

  • A cash register receipt dated on or after July 26, 2010 MUST accompany every return.

  • Purchases made with a check must wait 3 business days for cash refund.

  • A current Fresno State I.D. must be presented.

  • Textbooks must be in the same condition as when purchased.

  • New textbooks cannot be marked or defaced.

  • eBooks that have been activated through your computer are NOT returnable.  Sorry, no exceptions.

  • Textbook Rentals-follows the same guidelines as textbook returns.

  • August 30 - September 3: a proof of drop will be required to return textbooks.  Students that do not have a proof of drop will be charged a 10% restocking fee.

  • No returns on weekends and after September 3.

  • ALL COPY CENTER MATERIALS ARE NON-RETURNABLE.*
    *It is encouraged to attend class prior to purchasing Copy Center materials.

How do I return my textbooks?

  • Textbooks may be returned either by return shipment or at the bookstore.
  • Returns begin August 23 in the Pavilion.
  • Last day to return textbooks is August 27.
  • Returns are accepted Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • No returns on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

General Merchandise Refunds

Merchandise will be exchanged or refunded with a valid receipt, (no receipt/no refund), within 14 days of purchase as long as it is in the same conditions as purchased, with the following exceptions:

  • General books and Medical Reference Books must be returned within 3 business days and in the same condition as purchased.
  • Computer software is non-returnable if opened and not in the original sealed container.
  • Clearance and patio sale merchandise that is marked with a "Thank You" stamp can only be exchanged and is non-returnable.
  • Special order items, study aids, course packets, stethoscopes, catalogs, class schedules, Cliff Notes, computers, calculators, and other electronic devices are non-returnable unless defective and then may be exchanged only.
  • Credit purchases will be refunded back to the credit card.  Allow three business days for refunds if the purchase was made with a check.
